Outside the gates of the north-west of the city, Mondop protects the Statue of Buddha's most impressive Sukhothai.
The statue of brick and stucco seated Buddha, the 14th century and measuring nearly 15 feet, it cuts dramatically through a narrow opening, the shrine is guarded by rows of pillars on the front.
